Hibernation... time to awaken.
Hibernation… time to awaken.
It has been a very long time since I wrote a blog post for GGGB. Since our last bill attempt it felt natural to go into somewhat of a hibernation with this project. As I leaned into the inclination I connected deeply with the trust that this entire process has a pace and way of its own. It has been and is a kind of dream walk. I throw out intentions and make effort and they constellate as they need to. The pace of this has continued to teach me. It teaches me about creativity as an immersive engagement. It teaches me about letting go. It also teaches me humility in continuing to listen to and work with others, in receiving feedback and in offering up any of my fixed ideas along the way.
It is the first day of Spring and in a week and a half a second bill attempt will go before the Health and Human Services committee. Again we will make the case for why Open Air Cremation is a dignified and sacred disposition option and why it should be available to folks in Maine. We worked this round at being more specific in the language of the bill and in really considering the feedback from our last attempt.
We will continue to see how this unfolds. We will continue to bring genuineness and respect and kindness to how we go about these efforts. To me it remains an interesting dance.
